Donor Spotlight

Thank You Lisa Meyer

Bear Cieri

Over the course of our Annual Fund, we want to say thank you to some of our individual donors that have helped move VMBA forward over the past 25 years. Without your generosity, VMBA wouldn’t be where it is today. For our final spotlight in our Donor Series, hear from Lisa Meyer! How many of you can say you’ve been riding Perry Hill for 25 years? Lisa can! She’s also recently discovered fat biking and loves ripping around Saxon Hill in the winter months. Lisa’s home chapter is the Waterbury Area Trails Alliance.

How has VMBA impacted your experience in Vermont?

I have lived in Vermont my whole life, and being in the woods either solo or with friends is where I’m happiest, no matter what kind of bike I’m on! I’ve been riding for over 30 years, and my love for it has only grown stronger. Part of why I know I will never leave Vermont is because of what it has to offer the cycling enthusiast.

What motivates you to support VMBA?

I want to continue to strengthen and grow what has become a huge passion of mine, and I want to be able to share it with the community and with all who come to visit this special place. I know that financial support is imperative and as long as I can afford to support this organization, I will do so.

What’s next for mountain biking in Vermont?

I’m excited for the new flow trails that are getting built, connections between trail networks, and for more inclusion in biking overall. I anticipate that more and more people will be generous with their financial support and volunteerism. It’s a huge part of what Vermont offers, and its overall impact on mental and physical health is tremendous.

VMBA works hard to ensure that membership dues return to the Chapters, through direct and indirect support, therefore we rely strongly on support from partnerships, raffles, and individual donors like you. Help keep the momentum going to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of VMBA by helping raise $25K today.
