Lifts are spinning, and this time of year that means they are carrying one of our favorite things; mountain bikes! We are extremely excited to be partnering with four resorts this summer; Stratton Mountain Resort, Bolton Valley Resort, Killington Resort, and Burke Mountain! As a Member of VMBA, you’ve been able to receive complimentary downhill tickets from our partners since the inception of the ‘DH in VT’ program in 2017. Over the last 8 years, we have been able to grow mountain biking in Vermont, thanks to you!
As a celebration of our downhill partners, we’re back for our 4th season of VMBA Days, presented by Fiddlehead Brewery. We’ll be making 5 stops throughout the summer, and we can’t wait for you to join us at each place we go!
Stop #1 Stratton Mountain Resort June 29th
Join us on June 29th to kick things off at Stratton Mountain Resort! Stratton offers some amazing riding on world-class trails built by Sinuosity. Whether this is your first foray at riding at a resort, or you’re a seasoned rider, we can’t wait to ride some laps with you, our VMBA Ambassadors, Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports, and some of our favorite Southern Vermont Chapters including, NATS, SoVTA, BATS, UVMBA, and JAMBA. To keep the excitement going, Stratton will be hosting 2 fastest-time races on some of your favorite Strava segments. This is something you’ll want to be clued in on, as the winners will receive a new GoPro!
Keep the party going until the last chair and ride a party lap with our Friends from Ranch Camp. We’ll plan to continue the fun with Fiddlehead at the base, followed by a raffle where you could win prizes from Thule, Vermont Smoke and Cure, Misspent Summers, and more!
Stop #2 Sugarbush Resort July 20th
For our second stop, we’re heading to the Mad River Valley on July 20th. You may have noticed we didn’t mention Sugarbush as a downhill resort partner, and that’s because they are closed for the summer season to make some stellar upgrades and ensure we have many riding seasons to come! Join us for shuttle laps of the Mad River Riders’ trails thanks to our friends at Stark Mountain Bike Works, and stick around for the Fiddlehead party and raffle from so many of VMBA’s partners including Cabot Creamery, Upstate Elevator Supply Co., and PNW Components!
Stop #3 Bolton Valley Resort August 17th
Next on our tour, we are taking you to a place in the VMBA office’s backyard, Bolton Valley Resort on August 17th. With some classic Eastcoast Tech, new style flow, and jump trails, Bolton Valley has a bit of terrain for every rider, ranging from families, to expert send-enthusiasts. We’re excited to be joined by our friends from Unlikely Riders, Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports, as well as some of our favorite surrounding Chapters including, RMT, WATA, FOTW, and STP.
Want to take a turn on some jumps? Bolton Valley and Fiddlehead will be hosting a jump jam during the day. Don’t forget to stick around for our after-party with Fiddlehead and raffle with prizes from Off-shore Greens, Diety Components, Five Ten, and POC!
All proceeds from this event will go to support Unlikely Riders.
Stop #4 Killington Resort August 25th
Our fourth stop brings us to ‘The Beast of The East’, Killington Resort on August 25th. With three lifts running, there is a little (or a lot) for everyone to enjoy! We’ll be joined again by two of our Community Builders, Unlikely Riders and Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports. KMBC, Killington’s local VMBA Chapter, will be helping us host a free race down Rabbit Hole, so bring your full-face and a need for speed!
Make sure to join us after to check out your times, enjoy a few cold Fiddleheads, and a raffle filled with prizes from partners like Bivo, Motorex, and Kryptonite.
All proceeds from this event will go to support Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports.
Stop #5 Burke Mountain Resort September 7th
Last, but certainly not least, join us in East Burke on September 7th at Burke Mountain Resort! We’ll be joined by our longtime partner, Kingdom Trails Association, and VMBA Ambassadors to show you the stellar riding for all types, whether you want to lap Roly Grail, Jester, or challenge yourself on Rude Awakening. Burke is sweetening the deal by offering VMBA members a free lift ticket for the day (yes, in ADDITION to your Member Benefit). Want to ride from the top? They’re offering shuttles for $5 a ride, so this is something you won’t want to miss.
We’ll be joined again by our amazing Community Builders Unlikely Riders and Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports to offer group rides and adaptive mountain bike demos.
Don’t forget to join our friends from Ranch Camp for a party lap at the end of the day to meet the rest of the party at Mike’s Tiki Bar for our final VMBA Day’s Aprés with Fiddlehead. We’ll have raffle prizes from partners like Thule, Vermont Smoke and Cure, Misspent Summers, and more.
