Sunday Rides
Highgate, Vermont sits on the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail (LVRT), a 93 mile trail connecting Sawnton, Vt. with St. Johnsbury, Vt. The Missisquoi Valley Rail Trail (MVRT), a 26 mile trail connecting St. Albans, Vt to Richford, VT., intersects the LVRT just six miles from HIghgate. Consider coming for the Franklin Forty on Saturday and staying in the area to ride one of the rail trails on Sunday.
Where does the money go?
“Franklin County Trails Alliance is working with a number of partners and municipalities to build a new multi-use 8 mile long connected ridgeline trail between the St. Albans Town Forest and the Missisquoi Valley Rail Trail linking trails between Hard’ack Recreation Area & Trails, St. Albans downtown, and Swanton.” This project starts in 2024 and will be looking to complete in 2025/26.”
