Anthill Films “Return to Earth” Premier @ Rusty Nail Stage Stowe, VT June 22nd at 8pm

Waterbury Sports will Host the latest picture by Anthill Films in conjunction with Shimano, Trek Bicycles and Big Tree Brewing to benefit the Vermont Mountain Bike Association (VMBA) Major Storm Recovery Fund.

Anthill Films, a worldwide film collective based in Vancouver, BC has been widely recognized at film festivals the world over for their innovate and jaw dropping action sports films. The Rusty Nail showing is one of two Vermont locations that will host Anthill’s latest film, “Return to Earth” premiering this June.

The evening promises to be a fun event celebrating mountain bike culture and the progress of our local trails. Doors will open at 7pm and a DJ will be spinning both before and after the film screening. Big Tree brewing will be running beer specials and Waterbury Sports will be raffling swag (one raffle ticket with admittance) throughout the evening.

The night’s festivities are a fundraiser for VMBA’s Major Storm Recovery Fund with a portion of proceeds going directly to the fund. “We are always looking for ways to support VMBA” says Waterbury Sports owner Chuck Hughson. “With climate change in full force, we think this fund will be even more important in the future. We’re happy we can use this film premier to benefit the bike community”

In 2018 VMBA’s Major Storm Recovery Fund deployed $12,900 to help the recovery for the Cady Hill Trail network in Stowe following the major wind storm that produced catastrophic trail damage in the fall of 2017. The fund is available to all VMBA chapters specifically to address major damage to trail networks sustained in unexpected and significant storms.

This is how Anthill describes their new film “Return to Earth”:

“Time is either spent wisely. Or it is just spent. Second after second; moment after moment… they’re all there for the taking. Return to Earth is a cinematic journey into the simple act of living completely in those moments by riding bikes.

The showing is being presented by Waterbury Sports and is sponsored by Shimano, Trek and Big Tree Brewing of Waterbury Vermont. In addition to the film, the evening will be an opportunity to celebrate and support local mountain biking.
