Chase Brook Town Forest – Mad River Riders
Chase Brook Town Forest – Marble Hill Farm Trails – current trail conditions on Trailforks
Access & Parking: Park at McCollough Barn on German Flats Rd or in Waitsfield. Obvious trailhead signage across from Fayston School. Look for new bridge, ramps and access trail climbing up the bank. Dogs are not allowed on Marble Hill Farm trails, as they pass close to livestock areas.
Sugar Run : Intermediate – Tech: 3 Flow: 4
Turn into Sugar Run off German Flats Rd. and go straight up the hill. Look on the left for the entrance to Sugar Run/ Catamount trails. This route connects directly to the top of Marble Hill Rd, off RT 17. Expect stream crossings and moderate technical riding on a wide trail.
Catamount Trail : Intermediate/Advanced – Tech: 4 Flow: 4
This is one of the most fun trails in the network for good reason. It climbs and descends well, mixing classic features and friendly flow. From top, go left onto CT after cresting the high point of the Sugar Run trail. Stay left to end on German Flats Rd. From the bottom, there is an obvious trailhead and bridge on German Flats Rd, just below the Fayston School.
Techie: Advanced/Expert – Tech: 5 Flow: 3
Techie is the connector from Marble Hill/Sugar Run to Tucker Hill and Eurich Pond areas. The top is at the Maples intersections and the bottom is directly across from the top of Catamount. From the top of Ridgie to Techie to Catamount down to German Flats Rd is one of the best extended descents in the network, and ridden in the opposite direction, one of the toughest climbs too.
