FOTW Trail Clinic

Trail clinics are meant for volunteers of all different experience levels. Informative and productive! Bring a bike, bring a tool or just come as you are and join the comradery.
Fellowship of the Wheel is hosting a Trail Clinic! If you have been to one of our trail days in the past, this will look and feel all the same, but is more than just a trail day. This series will provide volunteers of all abilities with knowledge about trail construction, the tools for the job, along with the methods needed to safely execute trail work projects.
All trail clinics begin with a discussion about the tools we use, safe operation, and a summary of some trail projects where you can get your hands dirty. Then we’ll head out to the trails as we walk through the steps to install upgrades throughout the network. Expect to walk about 1-2 miles depending on the work site!
When and Where:
Saxon Hill Forest – Saturday May 16th – 9:00am
We will meet at the parking area located at the end of Thompson Drive in Essex, VT. Please arrive by 9:00am with plans to hit the trail shortly after!
What We Are Doing:
The Mojo climb has been heavily used! Multiple riding lines and problem areas have developed. We are going to be working on bringing the climb back to a single track line and address major problem areas.
What to bring:
– Closed toe shoes
– Water and/or snacks
– Bug spray/bug nets
Additional Recommendations
– Pants
– Gloves
– Eye protection
– Tools will be provided, but folks are encouraged to bring your own if you have any (depending on the project, the following can be useful: leaf rakes, shovels, picks, hoes, loppers, saws, stone working tools)
