2020 VMBA Board Candidates

Hi, I’m Curtis Fox – a sales, product and operations expert in the adventure travel industry. Adventure travel, which focuses on active, off-the-beaten path, low-impact exploration, is the fastest growing sector within travel & tourism. In recent years I’ve focused on project management and have led diverse global teams, managed annual procurement budgets, developed marketing strategies and contracted with vendors and suppliers all over the world. I currently work remotely for Montana-based travel outfitter Austin Adventures as their VP of International Operations.

My wife, young son and I live in Waterbury; where I was born and raised. We’re a hardcore skiiing, biking and hiking family. Most days in the summer you can find me riding local trails around Waterbury, Stowe and Richmond, and over the winter I teach ski lessons part-time at Stowe to families and young adults. I enjoy working with creative and passionate individuals and love fostering the same positive community and infrastructure that I was lucky enough to enjoy growing up in our incredible state.

Hey everyone! Ariel here again. You may recognize my name from last year when I was asked to be a potential member on the board for VMBA. Since then a lot has happened. I’ve gained a seat on my local chapter’s board of directors, Addison County Bike Club. Since joining them I’ve increased their marketing and social media presence and rolled out a new website for them. I also helped increase trail visibility by updating TrailForks regularly, and hosting a few Ladies Group Rides locally. We’ve seen an increase in trail users over the last year, thanks in part to our marketing initiatives and unique trail systems.

Outside of that, I continue to be an avid mountain biker, taking a break from Downhill Racing this year and hoping to jump back into that next year. I also took a new job as the Digital Marketing & Sales manager at Julbo Eyewear, whose North American headquarters are based out of Williston. With the seat on the board I hope to bring my Marketing knowledge and enthusiasm to the table. I have a lot to offer and hope you’ll consider me!
