VMBA is proud to announce a full slate of free informational and skills clinics throughout the festival weekend. Clinics are included with your festivial registration, however, capacity is limited. The sign up sheet for clinics will be posted on July 1st.

You must be registered for a day or full weekend pass to sign-up for clinics. Purchase your festival registration now so you’ll be ready when clinic sign-ups open on Sunday, July 1st at high noon!

FRIDAY, July 27th

5:00 PM Mechanical Clinic: Suspension Set-Up
Learn how to customize your bike’s suspension for what, where and how you ride or just come find out more about the mysteries of suspension.

SATURDAY, July 28th

8:00 AM Beginning Skills for Women
Come learn the fundamentals you want and need to know to gain confidence and have more fun on your bike. We’ll teach you everything you never learned.

9:15 AM Co-Ed Intermediate Skills Clinics
Review body position, learn trail scanning and other skills to increase your stability and speed.

11:30 AM Co-ed Injury Prevention: Body Check! Common Cyclist Complaints
Explore common biking issues of tightness, weakness, pain and immobility with an active discussion targeting the “whys of our woes” and ways to feel better.

Tired of those boys having all the fun? Come learn to wheel lift …front, rear and level, manuals, wheelies and more rad stuff.

4:00 PM Co-ed First Aid Clinic: Worst Case Scenario
Mountain biking is 100% fun and also hazardous. Be prepared when things go wrong on the bike and learn more about what you can do to make it out.

4:00 PM Co-ed Mechanical Clinic: Trailside Fix
Stuff breaks. What do you do? Learn how to deal with some of the most common mechanical mishaps on the trail while on the trail. This clinic will include a ride to simulate a real fix on the trail.

SUNDAY, July 29th

9:00 AM Co-ed Trail Building— Beyond Rake and Ride
Learn about the trail system at Ascutney and other styles of trails you will encounter. Discuss strategies that address environmental concerns, safety, fun and current trends.
Taught by: Jim Lyall, STAB

  • Informational clinics are 60 to 90 minutes in length and have little to no riding, with the exception of the Trail Builders and Trailside Fix clinic.
  • Skills clinics are 90 -120 min in length. Skills, drills, and on trail practice. Everything from just starting out to beyond the basics. If you’ve never taken a lesson, come get schooled!
