Steal Your Wheel Mountain Bike Fest
August 2, 2018 - August 5, 2018
It’s almost time for Grateful Treads annual mountain bike festival, and as usual they are a little late getting the word out- apologies!
Please join them for 4 days of mountain biking, music, fun, and friends celebrating off-road two-wheel pedal power in Jay & Montgomery.
They will be hosting evening rides @ 5pm Thursday and Friday, group rides for all abilities Saturday & Sunday, and taking advantage of 3 nights of amazing local music offerings! And, our Bike Rodeo is back for it’s 6th (?) year with CASH prizes for showing your skillz! This is a family friendly event, but riding for the real young guys may be limited to the Montgomery Rec Center’s new pumptrack and flow trail (both NEW this year!).

Sunday 11:00am: Self-Guided rides/Group Rides at Jay Community Recreational Centre. Recovery time! Enjoy great family-friendly fun singletrack at the JCRC.
Sunday 3:00pm: Trail Dedication at Montgomery Recreational Center. Join us to formally dedicate our new machine-built beginner trail in town to our founding president Jay Adams! We would be nowhere near the club we are now without the hard work, dedication and stoke of Coach Adams! This new trail connects the Rec Center to the school, and provides kids with a top notch transport between the two. The excitement from the local kids is already worth every bit of effort we’ve put into the trail so far. Please join us at the Rec Center at 3pm to thank him for all of his hard work, and show him our most recent accomplishments.
On a side note- we can use all of the help we can get to finish the new trail! Tools are all out there so feel free to grab a shovel, rake or loppers, if only for a few minutes. We’ll have a ton of wood being delivered for the completion of a bridge- date likely this Sunday…
Thanks to Art by Katlin Parenteau for the poster design!!
