Muddy Onion Spring Classic Gravel Road Ride

April 28, 2018 @ 9:30 am - 5:00 pm

Join Onion River Outdoors and the Montpelier Area Mountain Bike Association on Saturday, April 28th for the 6th Annual Muddy Onion Spring Classic gravel ride! This event has become an unofficial Vermont “Sign of Spring” and what better way to shake off the long winter chill than joining 500 kindred spirits on a noncompetitive gravel road ride through the meandering hills and hollows in picturesque Central Vermont. Choose from the full 38-mile loop that takes you through the quaint town of Adamant and along the shores of Bliss Pond and Mirror Lake or take it a little easier with the 21-mile Hibernator loop, a shortcut that shares in the maple syrup-coated fun of the Adamant aid station and then shoots you back to town with classic North Street vistas of Camel’s Hump and the mountains of the Mad River Valley. Awaiting riders at the finish will be a full barbeque with meat and veggie options provided by local farms and bakeries, and most importantly, rehydrating libations from our friends at Harpoon Brewery and the Alchemist! Lodging and restaurant options abound in and around Montpelier, Vermont’s capital city and the nation’s smallest at just 8000 residents.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Montpelier Area Mountain Bike Association’s North Branch Trails Project mountain bike trail initiative and the Catamount Trail Association.
The cost is just $45 for the whole shebang: the ride, food, and drink. Youth and meal-only options at $20.
