SUMMARY:Mad River Triathlon
DESCRIPTION:America’s only four-sport triathlon\, since 1979! \nThe Mad River Triathlon is a four-adventure sports event set in Central Vermont’s picturesque Mad River Valley. The event consists of a six-mile run\, six-mile paddle down the Mad River\, ten-mile bike along gravel and road\, and finally skiing up and down intermediate terrain at Mount Ellen. Participate in a relay team\, as an individual\, or just for certain legs. \nWe are pleased to announce Rob Center as our 2025 Triathlon Speaker\, one of the founders of the original Mad River Triathlon in 1979. Rob will be competing in the event with a team of elite athletes from the eighties. \nMad River Triathlon is a fundraising event for a coalition of four recreation and conservation non-profits. All proceeds support the restoration of the Mad River and the development of sustainable\, inclusive\, and interconnected recreational infrastructure in the Mad River Valley. \nWe are making every effort to create an inclusive event by allowing a wide range of equipment\, offering group raft rides down the river\, allowing you to choose the legs you wish to participate in\, and a broad range of categories and accommodations for adaptive athletes. Additionally\, if you cannot afford the registration fee\, just let us know and we will offer you a reduced registration rate. \nThis is a green event that strives for zero waste\, minimizes its carbon footprint\, and restores the riparian forest along the Mad River on behalf of the participants. \nFor more information and registration\, please visit madriverpath.org/madrivertriathlon.

SUMMARY:Claim the Lane: Becoming Roxy Sneak Preview Screener
DESCRIPTION:Come join us for a sneak preview screening of Claim the Lane: Becoming Roxy! This feature documentary tracks the story of Roxy Bombardier\, an Iraq veteran amateur cyclist confronting a transphobic past and risking her closest relationships to come out and be her true self at age 51 while training for Vermont’s most grueling gravel race. \n  \nClaim the Lane: Becoming Roxy is a humanizing character study of Roxy’s growth\, grit\, and love for community. During a time when transgender storylines are politicized and rarely deeper than a headline\, Claim the Lane spotlights the universal choices and conflicts of seeking truth in ourselves and our relationships— struggles shared by everyone\, regardless of identity. \n  \nCome watch the film\, enter to win fun prizes from Skinny Pancake\, Bivo\, Analog Cycles\, VMBA\, and Darn Tough\, stay for the conversation\, and join the ride. \nDoors at 6:00\, screening at 6:15. \nThis event is free.
