SUMMARY:Vermont Bikepacking Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Bikepacking is the cyclist’s equivalent to backpacking – only more fun! Bikepacking differs from bike touring in that the latter is typically confined to paved roads and bike paths. On the other hand\, bikepacking tends to prefer a more adventurous approach when connecting point A to B\, often seeking out lesser traveled dirt roads\, poorly maintained paths\, and singletrack trails. Bikepacking adventures can range from quick local overnighters (S240s) to epic cross-country trail rides or full-blown bike expeditions. During this weekend-long bikepacking camp\, we’ll share knowledge\, tips\, and techniques learned through a variety of bikepacking experiences to help give you the confidence to tackle your own adventures. \n  \nMore Details:\nOn Friday we’ll cover a range of topics in an open and welcoming forum\, and our seasoned coaches will spend time diving into specifics related to adventure philosophy\, bikes and bike fit\, bags and camping gear\, food strategies and more.\nSaturday morning\, after a casual breakfast\, we’ll dial in bike setups\, load up and head out. \nRoutes will include a little pavement\, some dirt\, some trail\, and a dash of adventure! To meet the needs of a range of riding styles & paces\, multiple routes will be available and we’ll split into appropriate groups based on desired level of challenge. Saturday night we’ll camp at a sweet spot\, practice preparing some tasty camp meals provided by the Trailhouse\, and review & debrief our experiences from the day around the campfire. \nAt our overnight location there will be opportunities to explore local singletrack on unloaded bikes and demo some rad adventure bikes from our friends at Tanglefoot Cycles. \nSunday morning we’ll pack up and enjoy another day of adventure and learning while making our way back to the Trailhouse. \nBikepacking does require some specialized equipment since you’ll be looking to carry much of your gear on your bike. Recognizing this might be a barrier for some folks\, we will have some bag kits and other camping gear available to borrow. \n  \nFor more info and tickets please visit: \nhttps://www.trailhousevt.com/product/vt-bikepack-workshop/2?cs=true&cst=custom

SUMMARY:Vermont Adaptive Charity Callenge
DESCRIPTION:The Vermont Adaptive Charity Challenge is an annual event to enjoy the beauty of Vermont through cycling and mountain biking all while raising funds for the state’s largest nonprofit organization committed to providing sports and recreation to people with disabilities. The event returns as an in-person event for 2022 (after two years of virtual because of the pandemic)\, and we are excited to see everyone again!\n\nWhat began as the 1st Annual Lookout Century Ride in 2011\, in order to raise money for Vermont Adaptive\, has grown into Vermont Adaptive’s largest annual fundraising event. Little did Phil and Joy Black know (owners of the Lookout Tavern) that their crazy idea to put on a century ride would expand into such an event.\n\nMultiple road bike ride routes now loop through the towns of Killington\, Pittsfield\, Bethel\, Barnard\, Woodstock\, Ludlow\, Bridgewater\, and Plymouth\, Vermont. Quaint villages\, the scenery of Route 100 and U.S. Route 4\, the Crossroad of Vermont Byway\, the seventh of its kind recently designated by the Vermont Transportation Board are incorporated into the routes.\n\nThe monies raised from this event support the adaptive programs and athletes of Vermont Adaptive year-round. It is also used toward scholarships – Vermont Adaptive never turns anyone away based on their ability to pay.\n\nWith many business and individuals getting involved over the years\, the event raises upwards of $300\,000 for the organization and has become a critical part of the annual budget. New ideas come and go for the event (including two years of a virtual event due to the COVID-19 pandemic) but one thing remains the same – this is an annual event not to be missed!\n\nLearn more at vermontadaptive.org/charitychallenge/\n\n\nBelow is the link for the volunteer sign up – https://signup.com/go/FVPdhFy

SUMMARY:TGR Esperanto Burlington Premiere
DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, June 30\, join TGR at Zero Gravity Brewery in Burlington\, VT for the one-night only premiere of our new mountain bike film\, Esperanto. There will be prize giveaways from our partners at Specialized\, Dometic\, Tincup\, Ride Concepts and more! This is the summer event you do not want to miss. \nMoving Start Times:  \n\n6:30 PM\n7:45 PM\n9:00 PM\n\nTickets ($15): https://tour.tetongravity.com/event/esperanto-burlington/ \nMovie Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=766iDfVllwo \nAbout the Film:  \nEsperanto is TGR’s latest action-packed mountain bike film with an added twist. Mixing the rock stars of the sport with a cast of unknown and up-and-coming heroes\, the film explores how we share our dreams through a universal two-wheeled language no matter what our native tongue may be. The sacred ritual of the ride might sound different all across the world – whether it’s a full-face getting pulled down to drop into a big jump line or wheeling a beat-up bike out of a mud hut to pedal to school – but it’s a universal process no matter what language we speak. As we view this visual tapestry featuring next-level riding in unusual locations all across the globe\, we hear a voice speaking a language we’ve never heard: There are more than 7\,000 languages spoken on Earth. In 1887 a Polish-Jewish doctor named L.L. Zamenhof created a new one\, a universal second language based on a combination of existing widely-spoken European languages. Its goal is to help bring people together from different ideologies\, beliefs\, and nations and ultimately to help end war. The language was called Esperanto. Translated into English it means ‘one who hopes.’ Today\, Esperanto might remain elusive\, but the dream of a shared language Spoken Worldwide still flourishes. You just have to know where to look for it.
