SUMMARY:August Pride Rides at Millstone Trails!
DESCRIPTION:Join us on August 9th starting at 10am for August’s pride ride at \nMillstone Trails Association\nin Barre\, VT! Millstone is \nKris\n‘s home mountain bike chapter and one of his favorite places to lead rides and show folks around. For this round of rides we are going to test out a new format. It is in flux\, so we’ll be looking for feedback from yall about how you like it. \nWe will be leading two rides\, a low key beginner friendly ride at 10am\, followed by a more technically challenging but also chill paced ride at 11am/when the first ride is complete. Our goal is to provide rides that feel accessible to all levels of riders while also providing a space for riders to progress their skills. You can join both rides or just ride in the one that interests you most! The total mileage for both rides will be approx. 10 miles. The first loop will be on Millstone’s green loop featuring the scenic and artsy Grand look out\, Rauli’s Run (Millstone’s flow trail!) and a look at our newest bridge on #6! The second will feature the more technically challenging Fellowship loop and potentially TNT depending on group preference.\n\n\nAt this time our after ride social meet ups are a bit suspended as current COVID guidelines suggest that riders don’t congregate after their rides in parking areas or at trail heads. We may still add an optional post ride stop for a local creemee or beverage and \nVermont Bicycle Shop\nwill be there to ride with us and provide some sweet bike snacks! Masks are required at this time and we request you bring one for the event and surrounding social moments. It is not required you wear it while riding since we will be outside and can keep spaced out on the trail! \nWe are also starting to integrate trail work participation into Pride Rides! If you are interested in getting involved or learning more about what goes into the trails we ride\, we encourage you to join us at a local chapter trail day! Each chapter runs trail work days throughout the year\, some on weekends and some on week nights. We won’t start with hosting a specific Pride Rides trail work day\, but will alert you to which trail networks and trail days a Pride Rides representative will be attending if you would like a guide/trail work buddy to attend with!\nMillstone Trail’s next trail day is the weekend following the Pride Ride on Sunday August 16th and Kris will be there as a Pride Ride representative and is also a part of the trail crew at Millstone.\nCome out and ride or build with us!
