SUMMARY:The Ranger - Cancelled
DESCRIPTION:The Ranger’s fourth annual Gravel-Enduro/18-Mile Fun Ride and #partyinthepasture. Gravel Road Race + Mountain Bike-Style Enduro in one loop of dreamy hard packed dirt roads and minimally maintained Vermont Class IV. Finishing times aren’t based on overall loop time\, but timed STRAVA segments (Enduro Stages – each roughly two-to-eight minutes). \nThough competition is not the main focus\, you’ll find this format to be a blast! Please find more details on the website. A shorter 18 mile loop without timed segments is also a popular option. \nA Ranger is often imagined as a protector and educator with an intimate connection to a place. We are firm believers that people protect what they connect to and care about. We do that through biking and bringing diverse groups of people to our communities. \nThe beautiful farms and forests you’ll be riding through will have you feeling like you’re out on patrol. This is a ride with purpose. We want to show you some of the best riding in the world\, and we want you to have a darn good time on your bike while protecting this place and supporting important causes along the way. \nNot into competing and prefer a leisurely ride through this spectacular area? We encourage this and it’s what we want our racers to do between stages. \nLocal Trek ambassador\, Kim Coleman and Meghan Owens will be leading a women’s supported ride along the 18 mile loop for those interested. Last year we set the record for women’s participation at a major gravel event (34%) and this year we’re launching a campaign with our friends at Outdoor Gear Exchange to hit 50%! \nBring the kiddos for our Junior Ranger program! Details on the website. \nWhen you return to the Fairgrounds we have our famous family friendly #partyinthepasture with live music\, delicious local food\, hazy local craft beer\, the almost famous VW van photo booth and much more. If you have family or friends who don’t ride\, but want to join you for a good time\, the Party starts at 11:30. Riders will depart at 9:30. Please sign up for our newsletter on our website to receive detailed event updates! www.therangervt.com \nWe’ll be posting updates in the discussion below as well. \nRegistration is now open. \nField limit for Gravel-Enduro is 500 riders
