DESCRIPTION:Join Slate Valley Trails on Saturday\, September 1st at 1:00pm\nas we celebrate and explore Poultney’s newly built mountain biking and hiking trails. \nThe “Fairgrounds Trails” are being built on land that spans the east and west sides of Route 140 near Town Farm Road. The portion of the network that lies east of Route 140 has been completed\, and is ready for you to enjoy! \nBeginning at 1:00pm there will be a brief presentation\, followed by guided mountain bike rides and hikes. \nJohnson and Son Bikes will provide a limited number of bikes and helmets\, available to use for the event for free. DESCRIPTION:Join VT Youth Cycling for some awesome races for middle and high school-age athletes. Courses average 5KM in length and offer a variety of fun and flowy descents\, great singletrack\, and a bit of climbing to earn all that fun downhill! Lap numbers will increase from 1-4 depending upon Category. \nRace #1 at Mt Ascutney will be a special event held the day before the VT50. Mt Ascutney has been hosting high school mountain bike races for many years and their trails are fun for the beginner as well as advanced riders. Come for the whole morning of races and cheer on these enthusiastic young riders! Parents are encouraged to contribute to the festival atmosphere by bringing a tent and food for your riders.
