SUMMARY:Everwild
DESCRIPTION:Everwild creates a space for women of all skills and abilities to advance the sport and build community through wellness\, whether you’re a veteran rider or someone who has never been on a mountain bike. \nSkill clinics cover the essentials of mountain biking\, introduce the fundamentals of jumping\, develop advanced skills\, and more! Workshops explore bike mechanics\, nutrition\, strength\, and mobility. \nLocal food vendors and craft brewers will fuel your day\, including Black Hat Brew Works. Demo bikes will be available. \nThis event welcomes and respects all women\, inclusively defined—this includes trans women and those who are nonbinary\, gender non-conforming\, and any others who identify as women in ways that are significant to them. \nPlease note that we require a name for each attendee. If registering a minor\, please use the minor’s name with a parent’s or guardian’s email address. All riders should be comfortable on bikes\, independently and without training wheels. \nBe among the first 100 people to register and receive a free pair of Everwild socks! \n\n\nClinic Descriptions\n  \nYouth Essentials (Ages 8-13)\nReview and practice the essentials in a controlled environment as you focus on the importance of body positioning and technical skills such as braking\, shifting\, and steering. This clinic includes small features\, drills\, and demonstrations. \n\nAdult Essentials (Ages 14+)\nReview and practice the essentials in a controlled environment as you focus on the importance of body positioning and technical skills such as braking\, shifting\, and steering. This clinic includes small features\, drills\, and demonstrations. \n  \nAdult Progression (Ages 14+)\nThis clinic is for intermediate riders. Discover the importance and power of body positioning and learn to navigate tight situations\, work on climbing and descending\, tackle tough features\, and practice cornering. This clinic spends more time on open trails and stops to session certain features. \n  \nAdult Advanced (Ages 14+)\nIntermediate+/advanced: this clinic is a more extended\, advanced approach to the skills riders already have. Emphasis on the progression in technique with more advanced maneuvers of the rider’s skills. Cornering\, braking\, slow speed\, balance\, body bike position\, wheel lifts\, variance of these skills\, switch backs\, basic drops\, vision\, and more. A great opportunity to expand the solid techniques you may already be using while making your riding fun. \n\nAdult Intro to Jump (Ages 14+)\nMake progress with fellow riders as you go from wheel lifts to bunny hops to small gap jumps. These clinics explore the mechanics of taking off and safely landing on flats and descents. Expand your riding capabilities to confidently hit trail features you wouldn’t have before. \n\nAdult Corners\, Hops\, & Drops (Ages 14+)\nMountain biking involves a blend of technique\, control\, and confidence. Mastering cornering and jumping\, from small hops to more significant drops\, opens up a new level of riding skill\, fun\, and freedom on the trails. This course will expand on the essential techniques\, body positioning\, and line vision to help you stay in control while tackling corners and learning to “pop” off objects and jumps. \nAdult Trailside Repairs & Basic Suspension Set-Up (Ages 14+) \nTrailside Repairs will help you conquer common trail-side challenges with confidence. Get the hang of fixing flat tires\, whether with traditional tubes or tubeless setups\, master derailleur and chain troubleshooting\, and tackle broken spokes like a pro. Don’t let mechanical setbacks derail your ride—learn to keep your mountain bike rolling smoothly! \nBasic Suspension Set-Up will explore the fundamentals of suspension\, unraveling vocabulary that often mystifies riders. Empower yourself by learning how and when to fine-tune your bike’s suspension\, then apply this new knowledge by checking and adjusting your own bike’s settings. \n\n\nMTB for More \nMountain bikers of all ages are drawn to Hale’s rugged\, varied terrain just miles from Boston’s city line\, and we’ve been eagerly expanding our youth mountain biking programs over the past five years. \nHale MTB Camp focuses on skill-building and ride time for an existing community of young mountain bikers. Hale is growing its community through a fantastic team of volunteer coaches\, rides\, races\, and events for mountain bikers of all ages. Intrepid Academy at Hale students enjoy rides during their semester. SUMMARY:2025 Waterbury Gravel Grinder
DESCRIPTION:The Gravel Grinder is WATA’s biggest fundraiser and arguably one of the most exciting events we host! We can’t wait to welcome you all back. We’re truly honored and inspired by the incredible turnout\, the resilience\, and the dedication you show year after year\, no matter what weather Mother Nature throws our way. Every dollar raised from this event goes directly to supporting trail building\, maintenance\, and land stewardship at Perry Hill and Little River State Park. These funds also help fuel our long-term vision of connecting WATA trails to other local systems and expanding our network. So\, come join us for an amazing day of riding while helping support the trails you love! \n\n\n\n\n\n\nRoute Signage: Riders this year will be expected to be more self-sufficient with route following than in previous years! A handlebar-mounted GPS or cell phone synced with your respective route is HIGHLY encouraged. This will help with some of the more confusing turns or where vandalism of route signs has occurred in the past. We will mark certain major intersections and have queue sheets to help with turn by turn directions/mileage if a GPS or cell phone isn’t an option for you. Also\, our guide for any marked arrows is to only follow those arrows on the RIGHT side of the road (no pun intended). \nRoute Links (Options to cover most devices…) \nTBD – Route is still being determined\, stay tuned for the final map \nLocation: The 17th Annual Gravel Grinder will be held at the Mavic US headquarters at 5 pilgrim park in Waterbury Village Historic District! Lots of green space\, tents\, and fun. Routes are still TBD\, keeping you on your toes! \nStart Times: Big Grind Start – 8:30AM | Traditional Grind Start – 9:00AM | Traditional Run Start – Any time preferred (posted or earlier). Big Grind riders must begin the extension no later than 12PM past HQ to ensure that you can make it back in time before we’re cleaned up. \nOnline registration: Includes a limited edition Gravel Grinder t-shirt\, aid stations\, and food and beverage tickets after the event. \n*We will be featuring the “Self-Guided Grind” ride again this year for anyone who might not be able to make the event or aren’t into big group events.  We’ll map out the route for you and have a shirt waiting for local pick-up and you can complete the ride any time you’d like. \nRoutes \nThe Traditional Grinder: TBD – plan for fun! \nThe Big Grind: TBD – plan for fun and adventure! \nRefreshments \nPre-ride breakfast: STAY TUNED – some of your favorite amazing local shops will help get you fueled for the ride. \nOn the ride: We’re still kitting out the mid-ride aid stations\, but we will make sure you are fueled for miles ahead. \nPost-ride refuel: After the ride\, we will be serving up a tasty and satisfying meal in partnership with some of the best local restaurants this side of the Mississippi. They’ve taken great care of us in the past and we’re stoked they’re back this year.  Beverages will be provided by the Vermont Beer Shepherd. \nThis event obviously would not be possible without the many generous sponsors who are donating things to help keep our bellies full\, keep us hydrated or rehydrate us\, last minute mechanical help\, or even just unlimited stoke for the season upon us. WE ALL THANK YOU! \nBig Tree Brewing & The Rez\nVT Beer Shepherd \nMavic\nBike Express\nStone’s Throw pizza\nZen Barn\nFactotum\nVMBA\nBlackcap Waterbury\nMcKenzie Country Classics\nTown of Waterbury \nYour registration gets you a delicious meal and 2 drink tickets. \nWeather: We ride rain or shine – it’s a gravel grinder after all!
