SUMMARY:WATA Gravel Grinder - 15th annual!
DESCRIPTION:WATA cannot wait to welcome you all back to our largest and most important fundraiser of the year! It’s always a blast and this year is going to be the best ever. All proceeds from the event directly support trail building\, maintenance\, and land stewardship in the Waterbury Area–Perry Hill & Little River State Park. They also help fund our long-range plans to link WATA trails to other local trail systems. So\, come on out for a great day of riding and support the trails while you’re doing it! \nNEW THIS YEAR – Route Signage: Riders this year will be expected to be more self-sufficient with route following than in previous years! A handlebar-mounted GPS or cell phone synced with your respective route is HIGHLY encouraged. This will help with some of the more confusing turns or where vandalism of route signs has occurred in the past. We will mark certain major intersections and have queue sheets to help with turn by turn directions/mileage if a GPS or cell phone isn’t an option for you. Also\, our guide for any marked arrows is to only follow those arrows on the RIGHT side of the road (no pun intended). \nRoute Links (Options to cover most devices…) \nTraditional Grind MapMyRide Route (Link) \nTraditional Grind Garmin Route (Link) \nTraditional Grind GPX File (Link) \nBig Grind MapMyRide Route (Link) \nBig Grind Garmin Route (Link) \nBig Grind GPX File (Link) \nNEW THIS YEAR – Location: The 15th Annual Gravel Grinder will be held at a NEW LOCATION – Waterbury Village Historic District’s Rusty Parker Memorial Park! More green space\, more gazebos\, and more fun. Routes remain largely unchanged and the detailed route maps will be available here by April 24\, 2023. \nStart Times: Big Grind Start – 8:30AM | Traditional Grind Start – 9:00AM | Traditional Run Start – Any time preferred (posted or earlier). There will be a cut-off for riders to begin the Big Grind from HQ along with a “last call” for food & drinks which all riders must be back by to guarantee those items. \nOnline registration: Includes a limited edition 2023 Gravel Grinder t-shirt\, aid stations\, and food and beverage tickets after the event. Register by May 1 to receive a t-shirt on the day of the event. \n*We will be featuring the “Self-Guided Grind” ride again this year for anyone who might not be able to make the event or aren’t into big group events.  We’ll map out the route for you and have a shirt waiting for local pick-up and you can complete the ride any time you’d like. \nRoutes \nThe Traditional Grinder: This route will be 28 miles with about 2800′ of climbing and lots of dirt winding through the hills of Waterbury.  The route will be the classic to keep nostalgia high. \nThe Big Grind: A 47 mile route with 4900′ of climbing and gravelly goodness. Really want to test your early season legs? Stoked on the Traditional Grinder but want to see if you can push it a little farther? This one’s for you. \nRefreshments \nPre-ride breakfast: STAY TUNED – some of your favorite amazing local shops will help get you fueled for the ride. \nOn the ride: We’re still kitting out the mid-ride aid stations\, but we will make sure you are fueled for miles ahead. \nPost-ride refuel: After the ride\, we will be serving up a tasty and satisfying meal in partnership with some of the best local restaurants this side of the Mississippi. They’ve taken great care of us in the past and we’re stoked they’re back this year.  Beverages will be provided by the Vermont Beer Shepherd. \nThis event obvsiously would not be possible without the many generous sponsors who are donating things to help keep our bellies full\, keep us hydrated or rehydrate us\, last minute mechanical help\, or even just unlimited stoke for the season upon us. WE ALL THANK YOU! \nBig Tree Brewing & The Rez\nBlackback\nVT Beer Shepherd\nBike Express\nWaterbury Sports\nStone’s Throw pizza\nPaprika Catering\nZen Barn\nRed Hen Bakery\nCabot Cheese\nFactotum\nVMBA\nLimbic Studio\nBlackcap Waterbury\nKC Bagel\nMcKenzie Country Classics\nTown of Waterbury \nYour registration gets you a delicious meal and 2 drink tickets. \nWeather: We ride rain or shine – it’s a gravel grinder after all!

SUMMARY:Annual Richard's Ride - Powered by VBT
DESCRIPTION:Richard’s Ride brings the entire RTF community together to celebrate Richard’s life as well as his enthusiasm for cycling and all that it adds to our lives. Richard’s Ride has something for everyone: from short family rides\, to mountain bike trail rides\, to road rides from 15 to 70 miles. \nThe first annual Richard’s Ride was held in May 2016 starting at Cochran’s Ski Area in Richmond Vermont and has quickly become a spring tradition. The ride celebrates Richard Tom’s life and brings together old friends and new friends for smiles\, camaraderie\, and cycling. \nRichard’s Ride is the primary fundraiser for RTF for the year to advance the causes that Richard Tom cared about: cycling safety\, getting kids on bikes\, and supporting young riders. Read more about the programs that Richard’s Ride supports here. \nRichard’s Ride has something for everyone: From short family rides\, to mountain bike trail rides\, to road rides from 15 to 70 miles. Read more about each ride below! \nMTB Ride Details (Please make sure to register): \nCome join Richard Tom Foundation ride leaders for your choice of an intermediate\, advanced and “kids” group ride on the Cochrans and Town of Richmond Bike trails! \n\nThe intermediate ride will focus on Cochran’s classic flow trails like Skully’s and Wiley’s way\, along with some classics like the Ravine trail. We’ll stop and smell the spring flowers on the climbs and enjoy the great downhills!\nThe advanced ride will go up to the very top of the network and along the ridge. Expect steep climbs and descents\, beautiful views\, and some unexpected twists and turns!\n\n\nWe will also be leading a beginner kids MTB loop\, which will include a super fun and short trial like\, Rock n Roll and depending on trial conditions scooting over to the River Trail.  (TBD) This ride we would be led by two designated adults\, and or parents that would like to join.\n\nMost years we find amazing conditions\, but all routes will be subject to weather and trail conditions. We’ll aim to ride the trails that are in the best shape for the most fun. \nBasically come enjoy some spring MTB action with RTF\, and bike as little or as much as you want! When your done shredding some dirt\, ride back to the Cochran’s base lodge where food and beverage will be waiting\, thanks to our friends at Dakin Farms\, Stone Corral Brewery and SugarSnap Catering. \nBike Reg: https://www.bikereg.com/rtfoundation

SUMMARY:VMBA Days Kick Off - Ranch Camp
DESCRIPTION:VMBA is excited to kick off the new season of VMBA Days\, presented by Fiddlehead! We’re debuting a bunch of new things to the series for its 4th season. We are super appreciative of our presenting sponsor Fiddlehead and can’t wait to see all the fun and tastiness they bring to our event series. We can’t wait to get this season started with some laps at Cady Hill and end our day at Ranch Camp! \nWe will be hosting two different MTB rides on May 19th. The first ride will be an intermediate ride through some of Cady Hills’ iconic trails\, like Florence. We will take our time to enjoy the trails and not just hammer past things. Then we will be hosting a Ranch Camp Party ride. This ride will have a faster pace and set out on a mission to hit an iconic pit stop before coming back to Ranch Camp for the after-party. Both rides will gauge everyone’s abilities and come up with the best route and plan. Make sure to book your spot on Eventbrite. \nWhile our event is going on\, the ranger will be doing a gravel ride throughout Stowe. The plan is for us all to get back to Ranch Camp around 2/2:30 p.m. for an After-Party hosted by Fiddlehead. Special for this event is that we will have Mastermind on tap. We will also be doing a day of raffles from our VMBA Days Partners. Both proceeds from Mastermind sales and the raffle will go directly to Vermont Youth Cycling\, VTYC! If didn’t snag a ride spot in time\, come down for the After Party\, anyone can join and help us raise money for VTYC. \nStay tuned for more details about each stop of the VMBA Days this season\, but see below for our full 2024 schedule.
