DESCRIPTION:Join an evening snowshoe jointly hosted by Ascutney Trails and Ascutney Outdoors. The meeting place and route will be announced soon. Bring your own snowshoes (and poles if desired) and a headlamp. Feel free to bring a snack or beverage as we’ll end the hike with a bonfire in Mile Long Field for all to enjoy (if you can’t join the hike\, feel free to stop by for some outdoor social time).

SUMMARY:Full Moon Snowshoe at Grafton Trails and Outdoor Center
DESCRIPTION:Join Grafton Trails and Outdoor Center staff and other snowshoers for the full moon rising on February 5th. Participants will experience a 1-hour guided snowshoe hike on our trails from 6-7 lit up by the full moon and headlamps. On top of the snowshoe\, we are hosting social hours before and after the hike for participants in the cabin. A GVCC cheese board\, hot cocoa and coffee will be available before the hike and smores to follow the hike around the bonfire. All attendees will need a headlamp and are required to pre-register by calling 802-843-2400. \n$20 per person and rental equipment included if needed!

SUMMARY:Full Moon Hike with Slate Valley Trails
DESCRIPTION:A family friendly and dog-friendly full moon hike along the Poultney River loop under the SNOW MOON. In February\, the Snow Moon arrives bright and full in the heart of winter\, illuminating snow covered surfaces. Participants should expect to cover 3 miles. After the hike\, they will sip hot chocolate or tea in the SVT office. \nPlan to bring footwear suitable for hiking\, snowshoes or microspikes (depending on ground conditions)\, warm layers\, water\, and snacks. Bring your own mug for hot chocolate after the hike. Don’t forget your headlamp! \nMeet at the SVT’s office space located at 212 Main Street in Poultney. \nQuestions? SUMMARY:Adaptive Nordic Ski Open House
DESCRIPTION:Join Craftsbury Outdoor Center’s trained staff and Green Mountain Adaptive Sports (GMAS)\, on Sunday\, February 11\, 2023 from 1:30-3:00pm for an afternoon of fun in the snow at the Outdoor Center. \nThis free event is targeted at Vermont youth and adults with disabilities. We’ll have their trained ski instructors on-site along with other professionals serving individuals with disabilities to provide instructions\, and support as needed. Homemade cookies and hot cocoa will be served. \nThis get together offers an opportunity to take a trip to visit the Center\, borrow some equipment to try cross-country skiing or snowshoeing\, or simply to observe other skiers zoom around the training area. \nTo sign up for the Adaptive Nordic Ski Open House\, register on their website. DESCRIPTION:This is the second BIPOC ski day this winter at the Center. Registration is required to participate in these free events. Choose between two sessions each day\, 10:00am and 1:00pm. Participants receive complimentary trail passes and rental equipment\, as well as lessons from BIPOC instructors. \nThe group lessons are optional if you’d prefer to spend your time skiing on your own or with friends old and new. While they encourage those that may have never tried cross country skiing before to take part\, they also welcome folks of any ability level to come. Snowshoeing will be available as well.
