Click the Donate button at the top right to support this nonprofit and make an even bigger impact.\nSign up for Berm and Burn Bike Race for JAMBA\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Overview \nDate & Time: Saturday\, June 14\, 2025\, from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM\nLocation: Stratton Bike Park\, 5 Village Lodge Road\, Stratton Mountain\, VT 05155 \nParticipants can choose to ride solo or pair up as a duo\, with options for both analog and e-bike categories. Riders can complete as many laps as they desire within the 6-hour timeframe. \nPrizes \nTo celebrate the achievements and spirit of our participants\, a variety of prizes will be awarded: \n\nTop Finishers: Recognition for the top male and female riders in both analog and e-bike categories (GoPros and The North Face duffle bags).\nLap Milestones: Tiered prizes for riders completing specific lap counts (e.g.\, 3\, 5\, 9\, and 11 for analog – 10\, 15\, 20\, and 25 for e-bike).\nSpecial Categories: Oldest and Youngest Competitor (backpacks)\, Duo with Largest Age Gap (backpacks)\, Dad with Most Laps (The North Face hammock)\, Best Costume (Smith Shift Mag sunglasses)\, and Best Camp Setup (cooler).\n\nSupporting a Worthy Cause \nA portion of the race proceeds will benefit JAMBA (Jamaica Mountain Bike Association)\, an organization dedicated to developing and maintaining sustainable mountain biking trails in the Jamaica\, Vermont area. Your participation helps promote outdoor recreation and environmental stewardship in our community. \nRegistration Details \n\nFees: $25 for participants under 18; $35 for those 18 and over. Please note that registration fees will increase by $10 on the day of the event.\nDeadline: Online registration closes on June 13\, 2025\, at 11:59 PM EDT.\nAll participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt\, and on-course support will be provided\, including hydration stations and bike patrols.\n\nFor more information and to register\, please visit the official event page. \nBerm & Bern for JAMBA  Rules and Regulations \n\nTreat fellow riders\, event staff\, and spectators with respect. We’re all out here for the same reason — to have a great time on bikes and raise money for JAMBA!\nPlease keep our trails and race area clean! Anyone caught intentionally littering will be disqualified.\nHelmets are required anytime you’re on a bike — whether you’re racing\, warming up\, or just cruising around.\nYour race plate must be securely attached to the front of your handlebars. It helps us stay organized and ensures your results are accurate!\nRiders are responsible for navigating the course. We’ll mark key turns\, but keep your eyes open — weather or other factors may occasionally impact signage.\nAll laps must be completed within the 6-hour time limit. If you don’t return by then\, your last lap won’t count. This allows racers to decide whether to squeeze in another lap or pack it in for the day and ensures we can start the awards ceremony on time.\nSolo riders only need to complete one lap to be considered an official finisher.\nIf we have to call the race due to dangerous conditions\, results will be based on one of two fair methods:\n\nFrom the last fully completed lap before the race was stopped\, OR\nAllowing riders to finish the lap they’re on\, then calling it. Safety always comes first\, and we’ll communicate clearly if this becomes necessary.\n\n\nIf the race is temporarily stopped and later restarted (due to weather or other issues)\, we’ll combine results from before and after the pause. The race clock keeps ticking\, and lap times will reflect real-time conditions.\nWe strongly discourage earbuds and speakers. If you must have music\, keep it to one ear only and at a low volume so you can hear others around you.\nFriends and family can hand off food or water to racers anywhere on the course.\nSupport crews or other riders can offer mechanical help on the course. They can bring tools\, swap parts\, or even bikes if needed.\nPassing Etiquette:\n\nRiders on bikes have the right of way over those walking. If you’re pushing\, stick to the least rideable side if someone’s coming up behind.\nCall out clearly when passing — “On your left!” or something similar works great.\nSlower riders\, please make room safely and quickly.\nPassing riders\, it’s your job to pass safely and respectfully.\nIf two riders are battling for a spot\, the leader doesn’t have to give it up\, but blocking or physical interference is not allowed.\n\n\nCourse-cutting will result in automatic disqualification for your whole team.\nPenalties are handled by Stratton on a case-by-case basis. We aim to be fair and consistent\, but honesty and sportsmanship go a long way.
