Dooryard Dalliance II: No Rain, No Rules
Register here to get updates or just contact Old Spokes Home with any questions. We look forward to seeing new faces and old.
We are following the same plan as last year, minus the rain. Meet at the Waterbury Park and Ride lot by 6pm on Friday, June 30. We will load people and bicycles into shop vehicles and drive up Route 100 to Cajun's Snack Bar in Lowell, Vermont. Jason and his team of deep-frying wunderkinds have generously offered to host us for camping Friday night. There is a restroom, but beware some overnight basketball and road noise.
Saturday morning we head out and join up with the xVT bikepacking route. We'll ride south to Stowe and eat dinner at Piecasso. From there it's a short ride to camping by Little River along Cottonbrook Road. We will ride about 55 miles this day on terrain ranging from pavement to double-track dirt to flowing singlestrack to congealed singlestrack.
Sunday we ride back to Waterbury Park and Ride and part ways. This day involves about 15 miles of riding. Think uphill on dirt road and you'll be fine.
We provide: The plan, transport from Waterbury to Lowell for you and your bike, decent company, whatever knowledge we can manage. We ask a $20 fee per rider to cover some of our expenses.
You bring/buy: Resolve, bike, camping gear, food, cash/card for more food, water bottles/bladders, tools for trailside fixes, etc. Your bike should be capable of singletrack mountain biking and all the roots, rocks, mud, and quick ups and downs that suggests.
