Ride Center Updates

July 23, 2009 - The planning of the trails in Adams Camp is nearing completion. It looks like there is about 6.5 miles of trails laid out. Construction can start as soon as we can afford it. We need to start organizing a fund raising campaign through the winter so that we can make this all happen next summer. That is a lot of trail to build. Professional trail builders charge $3 or $4 a foot, so figure it out! We hope to cut that cost dramatically by having a lot of volunteer hours added to a small crew of paid trail builders. Either way, we have to raise some money, but the idea of a major new trail network is exciting! Who wants to step up to manage the fund raising? We will need a team and I will need your help! July 9, 2009 - This project is coming together with work happening on both ends and the middle. We are making progress and have a new trail mapped out in Little River State Park. It is 3 miles long and a beautiful trail. It will connect the base area of the park with the connecting trail over to Cottonbrook. We have it flagged and are waiting for FP+R approval to start work. – Rick Sokoloff, SMBC President
